The beautiful rural setting perfectly compliments Podium’s existing Oxford locations of Jericho, Summertown and Eastpoint Business Park and has a real community buzz about it, with amenities such as a café, hairdresser and outdoor gym. Podium plans to enhance the facilities further by adding a Dock Club coworking lounge offering clients and members hot desking and breakout spaces.
This site is also significant within local history and is situated near the historic site of the Battle of Chalgrove Field, which took place on June 18, 1643, during the English Civil War. The park’s name commemorates the nearby John Hampden Monument, dedicated to the Parliamentarian leader John Hampden, who was mortally wounded in the battle. The John Hampden Monument is Grade II listed, and was erected in 1843 to mark the 200th anniversary of Hampden’s death, standing at the crossroads near Chalgrove village.
In more recent history the site of the business park was a poultry farm before the construction of the more modern industrial units.
